About 3rd Gen Project
A dance memoir featuring personal survival stories of strength, fear, and heroism in the shadow of the Holocaust. Celebrating resilience and the rebuilding of hope." Containing original music, dance, and video testimonies from Yad Vashem.
This show is the first presentation of an extensive program to commemorate Holocaust survival stories through staged art. Each show will be based on true events as told by the survivors and will contain personal interviews and recordings, putting voice and face behind each story.
This particular piece is inspired by Shany's grandparentS’ survival stories and personal experiences.
The piece was developed and presented in November 2023 in NYC at SPARK- Emerging Artists Festival.
In Nov 2024 the piece had a SUCCESSFUL off-broadway premiere (KnJ theatre)Followed by a special performance on International Remembrance Day 1/23/2025 that marked 80 years since the liberation of Auschwitz.

What's next?!
Our hope is that 3rd GEN Project's next step will be an ongoing
"Series of Memory & Art, based on true survivors' stories, memories and experiences from the Holocaust, expanding to gather more personal stories and transform them into original, multi-disciplinary performances."
